About Alexis

Alexis is a licensed clinical social worker and doctoral candidate at Tulane University who specializes in working with children, adolescents, and families navigating complex relational and emotional challenges. Her areas of focus include reunification therapy, high-conflict family dynamics, and adoption-related work, alongside therapy for children, teens, and adults.

As a Certified Family Reunification Specialist (CFRS) with specialized training in reunification therapy, Alexis is highly skilled in helping families repair strained or disrupted relationships and move toward healthier, more stable connections. She also has extensive experience supporting adoptive families, including transracial and transcultural dynamics, attachment concerns, and identity development.

Alexis is the founder of The Traveling Therapist Co., a mobile, in-home and community-based practice serving Metro Atlanta. By working directly within the environments where families live and interact, she is able to assess dynamics in real time and provide more targeted, effective intervention than traditional office-based therapy.

Her background spans inpatient psychiatric care, residential treatment for youth, community mental health, and private practice. She is also a member of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC) and has experience working within court-involved family systems, maintaining a neutral, clinically grounded role focused on therapeutic progress.

Alexis takes an integrative, evidence-based approach, drawing from Attachment-Based Family Therapy (ABFT), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), CBT, DBT, and family systems work. She is known for her ability to step into complex situations, quickly identify underlying dynamics, and provide clear, actionable guidance that leads to meaningful change.

Families often seek Alexis out when they feel stuck—when conflict is ongoing, relationships are strained, or previous approaches haven’t worked. Her work is direct, collaborative, and results-oriented, with a strong focus on restoring connection, stability, and trust.
